1 Neodymium Magnet - 2 x 2 inch Cylinder - Damaged Magnet Sale DAM109 Grade N48 - Nickel Plated You are buying one DAMAGED Neodymium Rare Earth Magnet. The damaged area(s) are circled in the photo(s). There are 4 nicks total on the cylinder. The coating around the larger nick is starting to peel. Neodymium magnets are very powerful, but they are also fairly fragile. Accidents happen and the thin nickel coating can peel or chip away, exposing the NdFeB magnetic material itself. This material will oxidize (rust) over time, especially in damp or wet conditions.  A slightly damaged rare earth magnet will retain most of it's rated strength. Of course, this will decrease based on the amount of NdFeB material that has been lost. If properly cared for, even a damaged neo magnet can give years of service. So here is an opportunity to get a strong magnet at a great savings!
