1 Neodymium Magnet 2 x 1 x 1/4 Block N48 with Countersink You are buying ONE piece of Neodymium Magnet 2 x 1 x 1/4 Block.   Size:  2 inch long x 1 inch wide x 1/4 inch thick Block with Countersunk holes (50.8 mm x 25.4 mm x 6.35 mm)  Nickel (Ni) Plated (silver-like shine) Grade: N48 - Extremely powerful magnetic material Countersunk holes accept #8 Screws To learn more about magnetization, pull force, poles and other terms, CLICK HERE NEODYMIUM MAGNETS ARE NOT SAFE FOR CHILDREN This useful magnet has 2 countersunk holes on each 2 x 1 surface making this block perfect for mounting to any surface which can safely accept a #8 screw. The countersunk holes are the same on the North and South side of this strong block, making it polarity reversible. This means magnets maybe mounted side by side by alternating NSNSNS and so on. Or an EXTREMELY strong latch can be created by mounting an N pole facing out on one surface and an S pole facing out on another.   These blocks are magnetized through their thickness, so the strong North/South poles are in the center of the large planes. That makes them easier to stack face to face than narrow edge to edge. ***WARNING*** These are Very Powerful Magnets! Magnets of this size and strength can pull metals objects to them when brought too close. Two magnets of this size will fly together with great force and can easily pinch fingers and skin.   DO NOT allow children to play with these magnets. They are simply too strong.   Also, even though these magnets are coated with tough nickel metal, all neodymium magnets can chip and break. The larger the magnet, the easier this can happen. When placing a magnet on metal, try to ease it onto the surface. If it "flys" onto it, it can shatter. Trust me, I know from experience. Please exercise caution and planning when using these magnets and they can serve you for a lifetime (and without bruises) :-) These Neodymium Iron Boron magnets are also known as "Rare Earth" or NdFeB magnets. Neodymium magnets are simply incredible! They are far more powerful than those old horseshoe magnets most of us grew up with.
