Very small 8.2mH inductor coils (nominal 8 mH inductors), 72 ohm, 50ma, part # NIS00410. When iron is brought near these 8.2 mH inductors front, inductance increases by about 10%. This means that these 8.2 mH coils are great as pickup coils, for example, to pickup brainwaves and other magnetic fields - great for biofeedback, mind control and electronic attack research. These coils are very small - 3/16" diameter, 1/8" tall - in fact, tiny compared to their relatively very high inductances. And because these inductors are tiny, they are especially great for pinpointing localized and small magnetic field sources, which is often critical for brain research, surveillance, and where small magnetic field sources are near or inside larger magnetic fields, such as ambient magnetic fields. MANY RECEIVING & TRANSMITTING USES: These inductor coils can be used in both receiving and transmitting applications for frequencies (freqs) from a few Hz to upto about 20,000 Hz. To use these inductors to receive a magnetic signal (e.g. for brainwaves, high-voltage line magnetic fields, hidden surveillance devices, audio bandwidth magnetic signals, etc.), you need an appropriate amplifier (amp) which has either a magnetic input or dynamic mike input. Then you connect wires and end connectors to these inductors which are compatible with your amp. These inductors have small built-in soldering pads (as shown) for soldering up your wires. Bandwidth is critical. Many quality audio amps amplify down to about 15 Hz - 25 Hz. Some brainwave and magnetic field signals are of lesser freqs, and thus may not be amplified well by an audio amp, in which case, you use a very low freq magnetic amp. Magnetic amps do not supply current to the inductor's line. The fluctuations of the external magnetic field induces into the inductor an electrical current and thus into the input line to the amp, which current in the amp is typically converted into a voltage that is amplified by the amp. For transmitting uses, you need an amp which will drive a small magnetic load. Be careful not to exceed the 50ma output current rating, whether DC or AC; since these inductors are rated at 72 ohms, output voltage to one inductor should not exceed 3.6 VAC or 3.6 VDC. These inductors can of course be wired in series (e.g. for greater output voltages) or parallel (e.g. for both receiver and transmitter uses). Note, that these are INDUCTORS - not mikes - so they do not pick-up sound directly - only fluctuating magnetic fields.
