10 X 10 X 10 inch high temperature electric furnace rated at 1700 Centigrade (over 3,000 F).  Manufactured in USA by Barnstead Thermolyne.  It has a platinum thermocouple connected to a built-in internal digital temperature readout.  Input power can be adjusted by turning a small screw on the controller panel.  It works, but some controller functions no longer work and the thermocouple wires have corroded somewhat at the terminal block.   Power will automatically throttle down as the preset temperature is approached.  I used it for over 15 years for making high temperature alumina porcelain marbles.  The furnace walls show several cracks and vapor deposition stains, but this will not effect its operation.  The furnace walls are composed of super efficient rigid ceramic insulation.  This plus three fans that draw room air around the furnace box maintain the exterior metal case cool enough to be touched bare handed even though it is white hot inside. There are also two ports for injection of inert gasses and a data output port to an external data recorder (not included).   Included are aluminum oxide sand, ceramic high temp mittens, and ceramic supplies.  The furnace plugs into a 220 volt clothes dryer receptacle or it can hard wired into your 220 volt circuit breaker panel. This item must be picked up at my home in Ruckersville, VA 101 miles SW of Washington DC.   Item weighs about 200 pounds.
