I use this for pain relief (tendonitis in my neck and shoulder and rotator cuff), bruising, cuts, inflammation, bites & stings, and also for pet wounds, and personally I find it very effective, especially when mixed with other anti-inflammatories or antioxidants (for an anti-aging facial serum). Please do educate your self first, prior to application and use. Cleanliness is of utmost importance when using externally & internally. If you plan to take internally by adding drops or a tsp. in some water, please be aware of what OTC meds or prescriptions you are taking as it will enhance the effects. This does include vitamins and herbs, by the way! :) You do not need a whole lot of this, a little goes a long way. It is best to purchase in smaller amounts as opposed to larger to keep the main jar clean. Do not transfer this using plastics or "acrylic" measuring cup.... It will destroy your measuring cup on contact and render your DMSO useless. (Another reason I personally only trust DMSO from a glass jar). Sometimes, when applying to tender areas, I scrape aloe vera from the inside of my aloe vera plant leaves and mix it with the DMSO before applying, or you may apply aloe vera gel after topical application of DMSO to prevent dryness of skin if you have an issue. Your hands must be clean for application, even under your nails. I have but would not suggest to use full strength on upper part of body above waist, however full strength seems to tolerate well below waist. If you are going to dilute this, use only distilled water. If you do for some reason feel a sting on the skin from application to a delicate area......simply just rinse or dab off with cold water. Chances are that the effects already took effect anyway, as it starts to work immediately. Why waste money on buying it already diluted, when you can do it yourself if needed...??? Very important: The quicker you apply the DMSO to a fresh wound, the better and faster results you will see. Also.... More is not necessarily better. For best results..... you will only need to lightly dab it on, not slather. Do not rub this in or irritation may occur. Remember, it is a solvent.
