1890s Lithography Press & Stones   Our family bought this Parks Press, made by Robert Mayer & Co., N.Y., in 1948, and printed with it until around 1960. We then retired it to serve as a handsome piece of sculpture/furniture. The  bed is about 30” X 44”; overall, it is 72” long, 40” wide (not including crank), and about 58” tall (not including press lever). It still works -- as a press or as a unique sideboard -- and has all its parts including a levigator for dressing the stones. The minimum price listed does not include the stones and applies to the highest bidder after 30 days at auction, not 10. There are 9 stones in all, ranging in size from about 22” x 16” to 9” X 11”. We will sell the stones separately if desired, price to be negotiated. Contact us for specifics on stone sizes and conditions. Purchaser will have to move the press from its current location and pay for moving costs. It will need to be partially dismantled to be moved. Location: About 50 miles straight north of New York City, two miles from Interstate 684.
