Removed from a decommissioned tower site is this PAIR of Motorola simulcast controllers with the high stability radio controlled 5 MHz.oscillators.   The controller is meant to lock up on the same transmit frequency with other controllers in the area. When everything is locked-up all transmitter locations can transmit on exactly the same frequency so a heterodyne beat tone will not be heard. With enough of these systems a large area can operate on the same frequency and vastly increase coverage. Both controllers operate on the same frequency454.4500. One controller says on the outside it operates on the frequency of 454.600MHz. but when the case was opened it has a channel element for 454.4500MHz. The second unit has the frequency 454.4500 listed on the outside with the matching element on the inside.
