As a result silver mica capacitors found many uses in radio frequency applications, particular for oscillator and filter circuits where their stability, accuracy and low loss (leading to high Q) are needed. Silver mica capacitors are excellent in amateur radio receiver and transmitting projects, especially QRP. Guitar aficionados will appreciate the clearer sound quality from these low loss, low noise mica capacitors. These are also good replacements for the old square mica capacitors that were found in vintage radios, amps, transmitters, etc. · Rated at 500 Volts (WVDC). · For use where high reliability and capacitance stability are required, such as in tuning/oscillator circuits, DC voltage blocking, high frequency, logic and transmission circuits and filters. · Long radial leads for easy under chassis installation. · Capacitance tolerance of +/- 5%. · Wide operating temperature range: -55 to +150C at full rated voltage. Note: Some manufacturers use an industry multiplier method when labeling capacitors. So when you see a capacitor marked 180, it is most often 18, and the zero indicates no multiplier. So a 271 marked capacitor would be 27 plus one zero for 270. I know it can be very confusing especially when a capacitor is marked with its true value such as 270 and in fact is 270.
