Unlike cheaper, flimsy versions of this scrapper, because of it's thickness, this blade will not bend, fold, or crease. When you buy the cheap ones, you end up throwing them away because they bend and/or break. In the end, the cheap ones cost you more money because you have to replace them so often. Made in America NSF CERTIFIED This scraper is brand new and unused, but not in its original package. It is stamped "factory seconds" and I bought it right at the factory. It is a seconds because there is a blemish in the form of straight lines in the mirror polish of the blade. It doesn't really show up in the photos. Unfortunately, because it was in a box with other scrapers without a protective cover at the factory, it has areas of scratches that can be seen in photos 2 & 5. These scratches are no more than you would expect to have after about 15 minutes use in a professional kitchen. But, let's face it! You are going to be using this tool on the toughest jobs in your kitchen. A few blemishes aren't going to make a difference in how this scraper performs. I have sold literally dozens and dozens of these "factory seconds" scrapers over the past 18 months without even 1 complaint. Because other than a few cosmetic issues, these are great scrapers.
