SLCHITECHGADGETS 4 feet Ancor Heat Shrink Tubing, 3:1 Ratio, 304148  3/8" Adhesive-Lined, Marine Grade, 12-8AWG, 48" long Description: This very high quality Marine grade, heavy-walled heat shrink tubing. Marine heat shrink is different from regular heat shrink because it is adhesive lined for a waterproof seal, and the thicker wall offers better abrasion and corrosion protection to wire splices. Insulates and protects connections from mechanical abuse, wire pullout and abrasion. Heat activated adhesive lining provides impervious seal to salt water, oil, acids, and sunlight as well as providing strain relief. Use heat shrink as opposed to electrical tape because shrink wrap is much more permanent, it makes for a very clean install, it won't come undone over time, and it protects wire connections from moisture (and thus, corrosion) much better than electrical tape. If you have tried to buy this from a boat dealer, you know this normally is insanely expensive ($20+), but the quality beats any import shrink tubing. That is because normal heat shrink tubing is used on circuit boards and indoor splices, whereas this is made for extreme outdoor marine and automotive conditions where you really don't want to be inside the engine compartment repairing a broken, corroded splice due to a poor grade insulation job.  With this listing you can get that super good but expensive tubing at a great savings while my limited supply lasts.  Everybody working on marine, automotive solar panel or other outdoor jobs needs a length of this in their tool kit for the critical splices.
