Here is my NEMA 14-30P to 6-50R welding plug adaptor. It allows you to plug a welding machine or plasma cutter with a 6-50 plug into a new style 4 prong style clothes dryer outlet. The cord is about 4 feet long, it is a "4/10ga" cord. Pictures: Picture 1 shows the 4 prong clothes dryer cord set and the receptacle a typical welding machine needs when it has the factory cord on it. Picture 2 just give you and idea of the size of the item. The metal housing to the plug is ground. The 6-50 ground is ran on the 14-30 cords neutral. It is only intended for indoor use in dry locations. Do not use NEMA 6-50 series on machines that use line to neutral/ground power for lights or fans. Do not use this adaptor on anyting that uses line to neutral power like clothes dryer or electric range. Any machine like a welder or plasma cutter that came with a NEMA 6-50 cord from the factory does not use line to neutral power line to ground power unless there is a short cirucit or falut with the machine. If you want to plug your welding machine into a clothes dryer outlet, because that's all you have and you flip your 30 amp clothes dryer breaker absolutely under no circumstances should you remove the 30 amp clothes dryer breaker and install a higher amp breaker. The circuit breaker is there to protect the wiring inside the walls. If your welding machine is flipping the breaker, that's because its doing its job and you need to turn the machine down. Shipping: I am fresh out of new 4 foot long, 4 prong dryer cords. I have a boat load of them on order and will be ready to build and ship 4 prong dryer to welding plug adaptors early to middle of next week. When the cords come in, I will ship the adaptors the very next day. To provide the lowest possible price I buy huge close out sales of cords at the lowest prices and have them shipped as slowly and cheaply as possible.
