These diodes are brand new, and were not extracted from Blu-ray burner sleds, as is visible by the long, uncut pins. They are rated by the manufacturer for 170mW pulse, however they can be driven to provide approximately 150mW continuously (a small heatsink is recommended in addition to the Aixiz module to prevent long term overheating). The SLD3234VF diode is more powerful than the PHR-803T and PHR-805T diode that was frequently extracted by laser hobbyists. These diodes can be run up to a maximum current of 150 milliamps at the risk of diode life being shortened(I have personally pushed one past 180ma in an experiment, but I absolutely do not recommend a current so high). As an example of the ability of this diode, the images above show the laser diode (in Aixiz module w/ proper power supply) running 120 milliamps with more than enough power to impress my friends. This diode is in a TO-18(5.6mm) size package and WILL press into an Aixiz Module. Since this diode is in the ultraviolet spectrum(405nm), please use with caution because the point is much brighter than your eye can detect. Recommended parameters(and warnings) for use..... Use ElectroStaticDischarge(ESD) protection at all times when handling these and any other laser diodes. Don't power up diode unless pressed into Aixiz module or appropriate heatsink with a proper driving circuit or otherwise stable power source. Don't point at people, ANY vehicles, animals, satellites(spy or not), any buildings, or yourself. THIS LASER WILL BLIND YOU PERMANENTLY IF YOU LOOK INTO THE BEAM....SO DON'T! Also, please use laser safety goggles, a glancing reflection will do damage to the eye. Maximum voltage: 6.2 volts Absolute maximum current(diode death): 170-180 milliamps Threshold current: ~45 milliamps Optimum current/voltage(for decent diode lifetime): 6.0 volts @ 130 milliamps The sale is for three SLD3234VF laser diodes. Please note that an Aixiz module is required for proper collimation, and does provide some heatsinking ability. These diodes will be shipped in ESD packaging, and will be TESTED IMMEDIATELY BEFORE SHIPMENT @ 80ma to ensure lasing.
