We want you to be a happy long-term customer. 44-1/2" Vintage Showcase Merchandise Display Case Picture Light, Brushed Brass Product Details: Vintage Showcase Merchandise Display Case Picture Light (old school) This light doesn't have a manufacturer's mark - just an old UL sticker as shown. 44-1/2" long overall excluding the brass elbow at one end. This light is ideal for a 48" wide shelf or display case. Super high quality and durable Brushed Brass finished extruded aluminum construction. This light uses a fluorescent lamp (bulb). The length of the bulb should be about 32-3/4", including the pins. Research indicates the probable bulb needed is as follows: F25T8/**/33, where ** represents the color of the bulb (e.g. CW cool white or D daylight). The length of that type of bulb is 32.78 inches, so if that includes the pins, then that should fit properly. Please verify this for yourself. This fixture is a preheat type with a starter mounted toward one end. It will flicker while starting. This fixture has a bulb removal tool (pictured toward one end) that rotates to push that end of the bulb down for easier removal. This fixture was removed from a broken vintage showcase. It was mounted to the aluminum framework on the customer side in the corner under the top glass. It was mounted by three screw points (shown), the screws coming down through the top channel under the felt that supported the top glass. The result was very sturdy (so that I had a hard time figuring out how to get the light detached). Included are the brass tubes that went down the inside corner of the display case. The straight tube with the bend toward the bottom is about 10" long. You can use other tubing of the appropriate kind, or eliminate the tubing altogether if you want. This light has not been tested since the day the showcase broke (a worker stepped on it and broke the glass and the bulb somehow broke in the process, but you'd never know it by looking at the fixture), however it is expected to work properly with the correct bulb. The wiring was cut where shown in the pictures during removal. If you want a longer cord, or a cord you can plug in, you can open up the end of the fixture which exposes an electrical box, and connect a cord to the same wiring inside. This is a very durable fixture. The finish is very good. I think I can make out some fine scratches on it, but the brushed finish obscures them well. I imagine you could repurpose this fixture into a picture light by adding arms, perhaps to those three screw mount points.
