This is one HUGE power diode. The reverse breakdown is greater than 1600V but I have no way to measure higher than that and based upon the size and mounting of this device, should handle over 500A! The face diameter is 1 3/4" and the mounting flange has about 2 1/2" OC mounting holes. I do not know what this was used for but it is the biggest diode I have ever seen. The forward bias voltage drop starts at around 0.3V so it must be silicon semiconductor based. This looks like a $500-$1000 part if you really needed it's potential. I am using it as a paper weight/conversation piece (you guessed it, I'm an engineer). Entire unit is 8" long.
