Much better than the plastic ones that I replaced. Great damper 9 Feb 21 I use this as a way to close off my exhaust hood for my welding area. I had a normal in duct damper, but it doesn't stop the air completely. In the winter the cold air still came in. I put this near the exit of the building and when close there is almost no leakage at all. Much better way to close the duct.The body is well made and the damper slides really nicely and can be locked at any position between fully open and fully closed using the thumb screw. To install I drilled a small pilot hole and then used self tapping screws to attach the duct to the flange. Finished it up with a bead of silicone.
