We are Matech, and we are the manufacturer of these Made-in-America LED fixtures. We are not reselling some imported Chinese-made plastic product cheaply made to the lowest standard. Our LED fixtures are built to last and that is why we offer a 5-10 year replacement warranty on them. We designed and build these LED fixtures for the utility/energy companies throughout the United States and Canada. These utility companies have installed our fixtures from New Mexico, USA to Ottawa, Canada. Our utility/energy customers kept getting calls from people wanting to buy our LED fixtures. Utility/energy companies cannot sell product directly to consumers, so this is when we started selling our fixtures on Ebay. We believe in our hearts that these are the finest quality fixtures money can buy, and the response has been amazing… Of the 10,000+ fixtures we have sold, we have had only one returned. The Made in America our LED fixtures are the highest quality and produce more lumens (light output) per watt than any of the other products available. Built for utility/energy companies and using only proven and tested components, our fixtures are designed for ultra-long-life and performance in the most demanding applications. In order to get the advertised long life that LEDs promise, the LEDs and components have to be protected from the outside elements. Our metal (not plastic) fixtures do this and we also seal the LEDs from the elements using our state of the art, patent pending, weather sealing (conformal coating) process. These fixtures can withstand a direct hit from a fire hose, from any direction. Steam, dust, snow, and driving rain cannot get to the electronics contained in our fixtures. All the other products we have seen on the market do not go through this added conformal coating step and expense. We feel if you are going to install an electronic product outside in the weather, applying conformal coating to protect the LEDs in a necessity, and that is why utility/energy companies demand it. We offer eight LED security light versions. In these Dark Sky Compliant versions the lens is removed and replaced with a shroud. The shroud prevents light from escaping upward and washing out the starlight. Exchanging a lens for a shroud also increases the amount of effective light hitting the ground by 8%. The only drawback is that the Dark Sky Compliant fixtures look different (funky, space age…) than people expect. Which wattage is right for you? Remember, more is not always better… 34w Version: If you live in a subdivision, then you should choose the 34 watt LED security light. It has a narrower light pattern that will help keep the light output trespassing onto your neighbor’s yards or into their windows. The 34 watt LED security light produces 3000 lumens and creates a diameter of usable light of 130 feet (at a 20’ mounting height), and is a great replacement for: 100 watt or less Mercury Vapor lamps, 100 watt or less metal halide lamps, and 70 watt or less high pressure sodium lamps. 43w Version: If you are not in a subdivision then in most cases the 43 watt LED security light is your best choice for cost versus light output. We like the 43 LED security light for farms and other rural properties. The 43 watt LED security light produces 4000 lumens and creates a diameter of usable light of 190 feet (at a 20’ mounting height), and is a great replacement for: 175 watt or less Mercury Vapor lamps, 100 watt or less metal halide lamps, and 100 watt or less high pressure sodium lamps. This is our most popular product. The 70 watt LED security light is more of a commercial fixture. This is the one we mainly sell to our utility customers. The light output that is produced and surge suppression required by the utilities is rarely required in a consumer application. The 70 watt LED security light produces 5500 lumens that creates a diameter of usable light of 230 feet, and is a great replacement for: 250 watt Mercury Vapor lamps, 150 watt metal halide lamps, and 150 watt high pressure sodium lamps. The 90 watt version is also mainly sold to our utility customers. Other than industrial type situations, this fixture will probably produce “too much light”. All in all, the 43 watt version offers an abundance of light output at an economical investment. Therefore, we recommend this fixture for most applications. The 90 watt LED security light produces 8000 lumens that creates a diameter of usable light of 280 feet, and is a great replacement for: 400 watt Mercury Vapor lamps, 175 watt metal halide lamps, and 200 watt high pressure sodium lamps. Included in your purchase is a long life photocell. The photocell will automatically turn on your LED security lighting fixture at dusk and then turn it off again at dawn saving you even more energy. We wanted your fixture to work right out of the box and for you not to have to find an electrical store to buy another item (photocell) that is required to have your fixture operate (think batteries included). We also did not want one of our customers buying the wrong one or installing an inferior photocell that may impact the operation of the fixture in the future. The included Tyco TE 8000 photocell is designed to last as long as your fixture for many years of trouble free use. ENERGY SAVINGS: The estimate annual energy savings of our LED security lights provide an excellent and quick return on investment. Our LED security light fixtures will pay for themselves in a few short years with the monthly reduction in your electric bill alone. ULTRA LONG 60,000 HOUR LIFE: If our LED security light fixtures are used only at night for 10 hours, it will continue to produce effective light for over 16 years. (10 hours a day, multiplied by 370 days equals 3700 hours of operation per year. 60,000 hours of fixture life divided by 3700 hours per year equals 16.4 years.) HEAVY DUTY COMPONENTS: Our Dusk to Dawn LED security lights are built using only tested and proven heavy duty brand name components. It contains a Sylvania driver to run the Philips LEDs, and a Tyco TE 8000 photocell switch. The die cast head and acrylic lens are built to take what the environment can dish out. (Remember, LEDs are an electronic item just like any DVD of CD player, only it is going to be outside. Going with cheap Chinese items will not stand up to the environment.) WARRANTY: 10-year manufacturer’s replacement on the 70 and 90 watt versions, and 5-year manufacturer’s replacement on the 34 and 43 watt versions. TRUE WHITE LIGHT: The light produced from LEDs is a pure white light that will render colors of the surrounding areas better and will not dull or wash out the landscape. INSTANT ON CAPABILITY: No more warm up time required. LEDs are instant on and instant off. SILENT OPERATION: No more annoying hums to disrupt and distract you from time spent outdoors. TROUBLE FREE OPERATION: No more getting out on a ladder to change the ballasts or lamps. SIMPLE INSTALLATION: Our Dusk to Dawn LED security light fixtures are a direct replacement for existing fixtures. It is as simple as loosing and tightening two bolts and disconnecting a re-connecting the electrical connection. Note: Mercury Vapor ballasts have not been manufactured since 2008 due to government regulation. Additionally the Mercury Vapor light bulbs will stop being manufactured in 2016 as well.
