Powerlink 3 control unit by Ablenet in Very Good pre-owned condition. It has some scuffs and scratches from normal use. Comes with one switch. "Big Red Switch" Item has been tested and works well. Good for classrooms and people with special needs. Description from manufacturer: The PowerLink 3 Control Unit is a control switch interface unit designed to allow the user to operate two electrical appliances simultaneously with a switch. The device has four modes of control: Direct, which keeps appliances turned on while the switch is activated; Timed, which keeps devices turned on from one second to 60 minutes each time the switch is activated; Latch, which provides one-touch on and one-touch off control of appliances, and Remote, which allows the attached devices to be controlled remotely using the AirLink Cordless Switch (sold separately). The unit can also be used with corded switches using the two jacks in the front. This device may also be used for turn taking and choice making as the outlets do not work simultaneously. This device has rounded corners, a low profile, and features a flexible handle and a cord minder. INSTRUCTIONS FOR USING AN ABLENET POWERLINK 1. Plug PowerLink into wall socket. 2. Plug switch into the small round socket just below the dials on face of the PowerLink. 3. Plug the electrical appliance into one of the two electrical sockets on the PowerLink. NOTE: You are able to plug in and use two electrical appliances simultaneously, by plugging each appliance into an electrical socket of the box. 4. Select the mode of control with the top dial on the box. "Modes" determine the amount of time the appliance operates once the user activates the switch. Direct Mode: Keeps the appliance "on" only while the switch is activated. This mode is often preferred for students learning cause and effect. Timed Seconds Mode (bottom dial on the box): Allows the appliance to run for a set amount of time from one to 60 seconds with a single activation. Ideal for quick activities like: sharpening pencils, playing musical games, grinding coffee. Timed Minutes Mode (bottom dial on the box): Allows the appliance to run for a set amount of time from one to 60 minutes with a single activation. Ideal for lengthier activities: turn on overhead projector, play electric keyboard, run popcorn popper. Latch Mode: One activation of the switch turns the appliance "on"; the second activation turns it "off". Effective when you want an appliance to remain on for an extended length of time: lamp, computer, boom box. The Timed modes turn on the appliance. When the switch is released the appliance continues to run for the period of time selected. The bottom dial selects the number of seconds 5. Turn the appliance on. 6. Activate the switch to start the appliance.
