A rigid base, fully sealed metal way-covers, high performance servomotor and non-contact linear encoders make the ATS5000 the stage of choice in industrial applications such as laser machining, ceramic scribing, or any other application requiring high accuracy in a production environment. The greatest attention to detail is evident in all aspects of the ATS5000's design. The tabletop utilizes stainless steel Helicoil inserts to protect mounting holes against thread wear. An integral metal way-cover is provided to protect the stage from hot sparks or debris. Both the metal way-cover and tabletop are treated with a Teflon-impregnated hardcoat (Rockwell 62 hardness) that is scratch-resistant and provides outstanding protection in the harshest applications. To further provide the stage with protection from a caustic environment, the ATS5000 utilizes Aerotech's unique tensioned side-strap system. The straps are in a vertical orientation that prevents debris from accumulating on top of them, and are tensioned to create a tight seal. An optional air-purge fitting is available that allows air to be forced into the body of the stage. This creates a positive pressure that prevents any particulate, no matter how fine, from entering the stage. To aid in system assembly, the base mounting holes are located outboard of the stage. This allows the stage to be mounted without removing the hardcover. The base of the ATS5000 is machined from special aluminum alloy tooling plate to provide high stiffness and long-term stability. Sealed linear motion guide bearings with integral wipers are incorporated to provide excellent payload capability and long-life, even with heavy offset loads. ART300 stages can can be mounted horizontally or vertically and are ideal for precision optical bench positioning applications in the arc minute range, as well as parts indexing in factory automation applications. Rotary housings are constructed from cast aluminum alloy, a critical advantage over steel and meehanite castings when weight and magnetic factors become important. The tabletops feature a Teflon-impregnated hard coat, which provides a highly durable 62 Rockwell hardness surface finish. The tabletop mounting holes have stainless steel Helicoil inserts to prevent thread wear. Each stage incorporates dual large diameter pre-loaded angular contact bearings, that are wide spaced to provide excellent runout and wobble specifications as well as good load handling capability. Drive is supplied by a precision worm gear and matched worm that are pre-loaded to reduce backlash. Both the ART320 and ART330 are oil filled to assure long gear life at high continuous table speeds. An optional home marker cam assembly (HC) provides an accurate mechanical home position while allowing continuous table rotation. With this option, the stage can be homed via the shortest angular move. Features 360°rotation Precision worm drive in oil bath Aluminum alloy construction Teflon-impregnated hard coating on table tops Click Here to Download More Info on the ART300 Series DR500 Drive Rack The DR500 is a 19-inch rack mount chassis that can have up to four individual amplifiers (DC servo, AC brushless, or micro-stepping) that are inserted into the front of the DR500 panel. Control signals from a motion controller such as the UNIDEX 500 or UNIDEX 600 are feed into the amplifiers mounted inside the DR500 rack. The DR500 also provides bus power for the amplifier modules and acts as a breakout for all control and I/O signals, as well as mating to Aerotech’s standard motor and feedback cables. Circuit breaker switches are also integrated for over-current protection and convenient power disconnect. The DR500 brake option is an integral option that provides a fail-safe way to maintain position on a vertical axis when power is removed from that axis. This is accomplished by means of a normally-on electromagnetic brake coupled to the load. To disable the brake, voltage is applied to the brake when that axis is enabled for motion by a controller such as the UNIDEX 500 or UNIDEX 600. Features Plug-in drives Rack-mount design Accommodates brush, brushless, or stepper motors Variety of amplifier power Integral power supply Integral circuit breaker switch Click Here to Download More Info on the DR500 Drive Rack Click Here to Download DR500 Drive Rack Connections and Pinouts DS16020 Servo Amplifier The DS series amplifiers feature small size and plug-in design, which saves panel area and makes installation quick and servicing simple. Aerotech's patented Varibus (0-160 V DC) allows each amplifier to drive a wide variety of motor sizes, reducing amplifier inventory. The DS series are easily configured for operation as velocity or torque (current) controllers. A plug-in personality module carries the key gain and frequency components. The DS series amplifiers have short-circuit protection, a motor load fuse, and a control voltage monitor circuit. Integral heat sinks and efficient MOSFET power transistors assure cool, reliable operation over many years of service. Their 20 kHz switching frequency minimizes motor switching losses and eliminates audible noise. The DS 16020 has fully-isolated power stages to minimize electrical noise and eliminate ground loops. Peak and continuous current capability can be boosted by parallel arrangements of up to four amplifier modules.
