Altera Cyclone II Development Board Description: This is the Altera Cyclone II FPGA development board. The board breaks out all the pins on the FPGA which is clocked to 50 MHz. The board also includes 64Mb of onboard SDRAM for general purpose use. Unlike microcontrollers, FPGA's use configurable digital logic units which you configure to perform a task. They are much faster then microcontrollers since they do not execute code line by line like the Arduino. They can drive huge LED displays and are great for projects which require lots of I/O's!
