This auction is for an American Optical One Fifty binocular microscope, as pictured.   Description;  This unit stands about 16 inches high, and the base measures about 6 by 8 inches.   The two ocular lenses are both marked "10 X W.F. Cat. 138."  One of them has a convenient built-in pointer.  There is a knob to adjust the distance between them.   The four objective lenses are mounted on a smoothly turning turret that has a stop to lock each one in its proper position.  They are marked, from shortest to longest "4/.10 CAT. 130 " "10/.25 AO 1026 ACROMAT" "45/.66 CAT. 1116 ACROMAT" and "100/1.25 CAT. 1079 ACROMAT."   There is a dual focusing knob on each side of the main stem -- the inner knob for quick and gross focusing and the outer one for slow and precise focusing.  There are two knobs for precise movement of the slide holder -- one moves it towards and away from the user, and the other moves it cross-ways.  There is a lever that adjusts the size of the aperture that the light shines through, and the light has a rotating switch that turns it on and off and adjusts its brightness.  The electric cord is six feet long with a three-prong grounding plug.   A cloth dust cover is included.   Condition:  This is clean and in excellent lightly-used working condition.  The light bulb is good, and all the adjusting mechanisms work smoothly   This is a professional quality instrument that was in regular use in a medical office until recently.   To pack this microscope better for safer shipping, I carefully removed two screws to disassemble it into two parts as shown the the last picture.  Each part will be packed in its own padded box, then both boxes will be packed with additional padding into one larger box.  I taped the screws in position to make sure they don't get lost, and I covered all openings to make sure no dust gets in.   Re-assembly will only require putting the two parts back into position on top of each other and screwing in the two standard screws.  This will simple because it is obvious which way the two parts go together since they can only go together in one way.  I really do not think you can mess this up, but if you are completely incompetent mechanically, you might want to get help or look for a different microscope.
