This patented and unique AMP connector installation tool (MI-1 Multi-Insertion) is the only hand-operated tool capable of performing volume installations of 25-pair (50-pin) telephone connectors. It is specially designed for field applications and medium-volume production as it is capable of terminating all conductors simultaneously up to 50 positions with 90-degree wire dress connection. Product Facts: Mass terminates and shears all wires in a single operation Wires can be laced in tool or in separate lacing fixtures Base plate can be bench mounted Introduction: AMP CHAMP Portable Hand Operated Tool are 229378-[1] is designed to terminate 14-, 24-, 36- and 50- position CHAMP connectors using the Insulation Displacement Crimp technique without any modification or conversion. Description: The MI-1 tools may be used with the combs in place on the tool or with the combs removed from the tool and positioned on the optional lacing fixture (not included). If lacing on the tool, wires may be laced in to the combs to produce a 90° cable dress connection.
