ALSO Included are TWO inspection/maintenance forms! One that I designed based on many of the service steps specific to the ANSUL R-102 Fire Suppression System. Some of the items identified on my form are: Is the cartridge and cartridge gasket in place? Is the tension pull down lever set? Is the lock-bar removed? And much more!! Fire System Service Techs are NOT infallible and experience has shown these mistakes can and do happen, and sometimes can lead to a catastrophic failure of the system! (A company I worked for several years ago experienced a fire at a McDonald's because the system failed: the tech forgot to reinstall the cartridge gasket) The other form is a standard restaurant fire system inspection and maintenance form. I designed these forms with the goal to eliminate and/or reduce the chances of making a mistake and missing a critical item. These forms are laid out similar to the form available from Brooks Equipment Co. But is much more thorough, with about 46 checklist items. As a former ANSUL trained Service Technician, ICC Certified, and former Fire Protection Company Owner, I could not believe some of the mistakes I saw on these systems. As a Fire Inspector, I am still still skocked at the errors I see with these systems! Permission to reproduce the forms is granted by me on the form. Check with your local AHJ's or Code Enforcement Officials before using this form. Some States or Municipalities may have specific requirements. As you can see, this is a must have DVD!! *Completion of viewing all the provided training material does not imply ANSUL Certification, but you will have gained significant knowledge that you may not have known. Only ANSUL Distributors (in my opinion this is unfair) can truly obtain Ansul "Certification". In addition to this training, I recommend obtaining ICC (International Code Council) Certification if your State or AHJ'S will accept/recognize that.
