This electrical control panel was originally for a small power generation unit at a Texas steam laundry, circa early 1900's. The meters and switches were salvaged, cleaned-up and restored, and mounted on a solid oak frame/panel of approximately the same size as the original heavy slate panel. The black meter is an AC voltmeter, and the copper-clad meter is an ammeter, both manufactured by General Electric Co. in Schenectady, NY, which is where Thomas Edison first set up large scale manufacturing for his Edison Electric Company, the forerunner of GE. Both meters are over 7" in diameter and about 4" deep. The panel also includes 2 switches, the larger one being a 3-phase fused "knife switch," which probably was the main power disconnect from the generator. The smaller (black) knife switch was probably what controlled the generator field current.  These are rare devices that are only seen in museums. The attractive golden oak panel provides a beautiful display piece suitable for a high-end office or den. Shipping costs to be born by the buyer, but I will construct a wooden crate at no additional costs...this is the way the unit was prepared for previous household moves.  Delivery by the seller within Colorado or southern Wyoming can be arranged.
