VINTAGE SCHEEFER RECORDING WATT METER by The DIAMOND METER CO. in Peoria, IL I am selling these items for my son, but if you have any questions, please e-mail me, and I will contact my son for an answer for you as soon as possible. This item will ship from the state of Washington and will be shipped via USPS Ground for $20.00 to anywhere in the LOWER 48. Shipping costs to anywhere else will have to be determined. This is a vintage and very unusual / rare Scheeffer Recording Watt Meter made by the Diamond Meter Co. out of Peoria, IL. It is currently hanging on a 2-piece wooden plaque. The meter will be removed from the wood plaque and wrapped/packed inside of a box, and this box will be inserted into a larger box alongside the wood plaque. Due to the weight of the meter(~ 15lbs), we currently have the meter resting on (3) sticky notepads to prevent it from tipping forward. The wood plaque is not very well-made, so the new owner will probably want to display it a little differently. We believe that this meter dates from either the late 1890's or early 1900's, as there are (3) patent dates on the brass tag on the front of the meter(see PIC # 2 and # 8), but we are not positive. We have not been able to locate another meter like this one, so we believe that this one is VERY RARE. It is very heavy at ~ 15lbs, and is in very good condition, but the upper glass window does have a crack running across it(see PIC # 9 and # 10). The black metal enclosure has a few chips, nics, and scratches to it too, but it still displays really well. My son works for an electric utility, and the Manager of their Meter Department collects old meters... and he has told my son that he has never seen this meter before, which is also why we believe this to be a very rare meter. This would be a great addition to anyone's electric watt meter or utility sign collection!! Shipping to anywhere in the lower 48 will be $20.00 via USPS Ground.
