Antique vintage lab equipment SWITCH -35 to +100 Degrees C This is an antique piece of laboratory equipment which was used to control a heater to regulate temperature. I tested it and it works OK.  To operate it, one turns the knob on the top which is magnetically coupled to a screw inside the glass.  This lowers a wire towards the column.  When the wire touches the column, an electrical short is made.  As the temperature rises and falls, this connection is opened and closed controlling the heater.  Because the wire is hard to see inside the column, a second scale with an indicator is provided to help set the temperature.  The column is completely sealed inside the glass enclosure. When the desired temperature setting is reached, a thumb set screw locks the knob.  Please remember that the current of an electric heater can be many Amps.  All these Amps cannot be conducted through this thermometer without potentially damaging it. Therefore, a relay should be used between the thermometer and an electric heater. I have several of these devices but this bid price is just for one.  I also have one with 0 to +50 Degrees C; two with -10 to +50 Degrees C; another one with -35 to +100 Degrees C; one with -5 to +105 Degrees C.  They each have different types of electrical connectons. Payment is due within 5 days of close of auction or date of purchase. Shipping options do NOT include insurance or tracking and the buyer assumes responsibility. Other shipping options available if requested. No returns accepted (contact seller if item is not as described).
