It is designed to operate with a wide variety of Bard Access Systems' catheter kits labeled "with Tip Location System (TLS) Stylet" and "Sherlock". The power supply was then removed and the system was powered on. The battery indicator was showing a full charge. The system was then tested with a flat box simulating a patient chest with the sensor placed on the top of the box and a Bard Sherlock PowerPICC line was slowly inserted inside the bottom of the box on a parallel plane to the sensor body. The PowerPICC was approximately 2-3/4" below the sensor. The sensor was able to detect the PICC line not only in proximity but also in direction of the line itself. The audible proximity alerts also corresponded to the position of the PICC line as well. This was the extent of my testing. The charger works and the unit is holding a charge but actual battery life is unknown. Cosmetically this system is very nice. Very clean. I did not notice any broken parts. Normal light signs of previous use are present like very minor scratches and a few dings. Two minor scratches on the screen are present as well but not very noticeable. Power supply cord is in excellent condition. Sensor cord is in excellent condition I did not notice any burned out pixels on the monitor screen. Please study pictures.
