You are bidding on an used Baum XE Ultrafold air feed folder. It will fold a 3 X 5 inch sheet up to a 14 X 20 inch sheet. This folder belongs to a friend of mine. I am selling it for him. You can tell by looking at the folder that it has had quite a lot of use but after I cleaned it up and oiled it and ran it, it runs very well. He told me that some time back it had been professionally rebuilt. The rollers are still in good condition and the gears only show a little wear. If you run your finger across the rollers you can feel a slight ridge on both sides which gives away the fact that most of what it was used for was probably 8.5 inches wide paper. I placed a strip of paper on both edges and the center of each roller nip and the pressure was still very firm and even all the way across. It folds crisply and pretty consistently. This folder has the newer style feeder. This is important. No matter what folder you buy, try to get one with a feed wheel that looks like the one in the third picture of this auction. These newer style feeders feed much better than any of the older designs do. Just don't try to put to large of lifts of paper in any folder. I folded 8.5 X 11 20# bond in half and also a letter fold and it worked well. I also folded 11 X 17 20# bond in half. Then just for kicks I took some of those and folded them in an 8.5 X 11 letter fold. I did have to baby the stack some to get it to feed but it did OK. I didn't have any coated stock to try in it but am pretty sure it would handle coated OK if you play with the air and vacuum a little. In addition to being rebuilt a while ago it also has had a new drive motor put in it. I don't know how long ago. It comes with the operator/parts book, two new motor brushes, two new orange sheet separators and the perf and score wheels. The counter works fine but I noticed it also comes with a counter upgrade kit (I guess in case it ever stops counting). There is a problem with one of the hinges on a sound dampening cover and another one is missing and three of the four rubber feet buttons are missing. Also, the decal that shows where to set the fold plates is not very pretty. (The clear film that protects it has been worn off and some of the printing is turning dark - one of the last pictures.) It only requires one 115 volt AC outlet (standard wall outlet). We are going to go ahead and offer free freight to the continental USA. Free freight only applies to a commercial location with a dock or a forklift. If you require a liftgate delivery I would have to charge you $50 to $100 freight depending on the carrier. This folder works real well but is being sold as is with no returns. We accept PayPal, checks, bank to bank wire transfers and if you come to pick it up I need cash unless you prepay with PayPal before picking it up. If you pay by check you could delay shipment by two or three weeks. I will not ship until payment has for sure cleared. If you pay with PayPal it would be difficult to ship to anywhere other than your PayPal address. It can be done but requires a little extra communications. Thanks and good luck.
