University surplus. Beautiful condition, extra-lightly used portable audiometer. The BELTONE 119 is a screening audiometer designed to do pure tone air  conduction hearing screenings.  To prepare the audiometer:  Open the cover.  Plug in the earphones in this manner: plug the red cord into the right  receptacle at the back of the audiometer; plug the blue cord into the left  receptacle.  Plug the audiometer into an electrical outlet.  Turn the power ON by pushing the toggle switch located in the center  front panel. The red light to the right of the POWER switch should be  illuminated when the power is on.  Check the jacks at the back of the audiometer for secure insertion.  Check that the earphones are securely attached to the headset.  CONTROLS  The HEARING LEVEL attenuator dial is located on the right side of the  audiometer. It ranges from -10 dB HL to 110 dB HL.  The FREQUENCY dial is located on the left side of the audiometer. The  frequency selector can be rotated continuously in either direction. It has an off  position and allows the operator to test the following frequencies:  125, 250, 500, 750, 1000, 1500, 2000, 3000, 4000, 6000, and 8000  Hz.  The tone is presented by pressing the blue pad marked “TONE” in the center of  the audiometer. The red light above the blue pad should illuminate to indicate  that the tone is ON. BELTONE 119 SCREENING AUDIOMETER  Page 2  The RIGHT/LEFT PHONE toggle switches are located on the right side of the  audiometer above the hearing level attenuator. To test the right ear move the switch to  the "Right" position and to test the left ear move the switch to the "Left" position.  Generally speaking, the tone used to screen hearing should be continuous. The operator  does not have to move any switches to obtain this mode of presentation.  The TONE MODE switch located above the Frequency Selector on the left side of the  audiometer is used to have the tone is a continuous off mode, a continuous on mode or  presented as a pulsed tone. Generally speaking the switch should be in the “NORM  OFF” position.
