Beck-Ealing Reflecting Microscope Objective 36X Condition: Used, very good condition, cosmetically clean and undamaged. Description: For your consideration is  this vintage two mirror all-reflecting microscope objective, complete with fitted wooden chest.                    11 page instruction manual and                     "silver point" test slide (used for precise adjustment). The original adjustment keys (tools) are missing; replacement                     hex-key and flat-blade screwdriver are provided. From the 1975 Ealing Optics Catalog, the product description reads: ' The objective is a medium power system with the resolving power normally associated with an 8mm refracting objective. It has been designed to meet the needs of those who require high resolution coupled with a long working distance. In order to achieve this, it has been necessary to increase the size of the mirror systems..' Important: 'Note the length and external diameter of this objective and be certain that the intended microscope can accomodate it. 'Mirror separation can be varied to correct the spherical aberration introduced by glass plates, windows, etc. which may be interposed between the specimen and the objective. The collar by which this adjustment is achieved allows correction to be made for windows up to 2mm thick.' These objectives will fit any standard B.S.I. microscope tube. One photo shows a cross-sectional view and summary of specifications and dimensions. Be reminded that this is a much larger and heavier (17.6 ounces) than the typical refractive-type objective. This objective is cosmetically clean and undamaged as it has been lightly used and in storage for many years.
