BoxOfficeDepot   Thanks for your interest.  This is a Twenty-Seven pound shipment.  This AFG Beckett Burner was installed new right before we changed our boiler out and converted to natural gas.  As you can see by the photographs this unit looks well used and quite dirty, typical, of an oil burner, but... the looks or the amount of dirt does not affect the units operation.   Oil burners usually look rough after a couple of years of service.  This burner is bundled with parts that were installed at the time of installation.   The parts are a large Model 99 Unifilter housing, and a "B2VA-8216" oil pump.   The filter housing will probably need a new filter element when you place this burner into service.  Installing new filter elements are typical service work.  With regards to the B2VA-8216 oil pump there are details and benefits that need to be disclosed to the buyer.   Let me explain;  Most if not all new oil burners come with an "A" oil pump, which is fine if you have an above ground oil tank, but... if you have an underground oil tank you must use a "B" oil pump due to the additional lift, the pump must perform, to get the fuel oil to the burner from an underground tank.  As you might guess we had an underground fuel oil tank.  Now this is important...  A "B" pump will move oil from an underground oil tank and an above ground oil tank, but an "A" pump will not raise oil from an underground oil tank.  Therefore this burner unit will most likely move oil in your fuel oil system.  This is very important when sizing the heating system.  Most contractors make a common mistake and install an "A" pump on an underground oil tank fuel oil system.  An "A" oil pump will work for a little while but will soon burn out due to the additional lift and strain placed on it by the underground fuel oil tank.  In most cases the fuel oil pump develops a distinct whine right before failing.  Now that you know the difference, check your existing oil burner and see what is installed.  Hmmmm...  Additionally this oil pump on this Beckett Burner is set up for a two pipe fuel oil system.  To use this pump on a one pipe fuel oil system you must install a plug into the oil pump.  Research this online for the proper procedure to change from a two pipe to a one pipe fuel oil system, especially if you are buying this Beckett Burner for a one pipe fuel oil system.  Additionally, this oil burner does not come with a primary control installed, you will have to supply this safety device when placing this unit into service.  You will also have to wire this unit when you install a primary control.  You may be able to use some of the parts off of your existing oil burner when you make the swap.  You will also have to provide a gasket for the front of the burner gun as the one here was damaged upon removal from our old boiler.  We have plugged all of the fuel oil openings on this burner so fuel oil will not leak out of the burner pump and piping therefore, you will have to remove these plugs when placing this unit into service.  How do I know all of this?  I owned and operated a plumbing and heating emergency repair service here in the northeast for over thirty years.   Remember, it is your responsibility to know what your application is and if this burner gun will work for you when it arrives at your front door.  If  you have a single doubt we recommend using the services of a qualified and licensed technician as we are not offering any refunds or returns on this oil burner gun.  So... be smart and use a qualified technician when installing this Beckett Oil Burner in your property.  Thanks for looking!
