Click to Enlarge Click to Enlarge LANGSTROTH BEE HIVE This is the standard hive used in the industry as a brood chamber or for a deep honey super for additional honey storage above the brood chamber. These hives have lock corner joints for added strength and durability. I have hives like these in my bee yard that have been in use for up to 30 years. Overall dimensions are 19 7/8" long, 16 1/4" wide, and 9 5/8" deep. Hives are manufactured from white pine, which again is the standard in the bee industry. Many of the hives offered on ebay are made from yellow pine which is prone to warp or split over time. Ten heavy duty frames are included which are also manufactured from white pine. Pure beeswax foundation is installed in each frame with wires embedded for added strength. When the bees draw this out into honey comb, the embedded wires help support the weight of the brood and honey. Order as many as you need.
