This listing is for a PEC Acme Screw Thread Gauge with cosmetic imperfections. This gauge is manufactured in the USA by Products Engineering Corporation (PEC Tools), one of the last US precision manufacturing companies. PEC quality standards are quite high. Many gauges did not meet these quality standards and are now for sale as cosmetic seconds or “blems” at a deep discount. Most have scratches, discoloration or other blemishes. In addition, the name brand on each rule has been ground off. PEC makes and brands gauges for numerous other tool companies, so remnants of other tool names may remain on the rule. The functionality of the tool is good and it will function accurately as a measuring tools. So instead of recycling the steel, you have the opportunity to own a premier tool with a “mistake” at a fraction of retail cost. Acme Screw Thread Gage 29 Degree with 1-10 Threads/inch. Gauge used for grinding and setting tools when cutting Acme threads whose sides have an inclination of 14-1/2° (29° included angle). Angles and edges are precision ground.
