Per manufacturer: "Seat is constructed of durable, water-resistant, ivory colored, 5/16" (8mm) thick solid phenolic.  Supports up to 500 lbs. The Bobrick B-5191 Barrier Free Shower Dressing Area Seat is the perfect way to ensure compliance with barrier-free accessibility guidelines in your company shower or dressing area. The seat is made from phenolic, which is waterproof and will not allow bacteria to linger on the surface of the seat. The standard color for the seat is ivory. Slots in the seat's design allow water to drain onto the floor, and the piece is intended to never require oiling. When not in use, the shower and dressing area seat can be folded up against the wall, and its mounting height can be customized to make it easier to clean the floors. The seat is 5/16 inches thick and can support up to 450 pounds of weight. Stainless steel bolts and acorn nuts ensure an incredibly secure installation to any surface." SAFETY WARNING: Shower seats are no stronger than the anchors and walls to which they are attached and must be firmly secured in order to support the loads for which they are intended. Consult and comply with local building codes. To avoid potential injury, the building owner or maintenance personnel should remove the shower seat from service if the shower seat is not adequately secured to the wall. Unit shall support static loads of up to 500 lbs (227 kg) when properly installed and used. To avoid potential seat malfunction, DO NOT use seat if weight exceeds 500 lbs (227 kg).
