This unit was just removed from a working lab.  Caliper Life Sciences AMS-90SE (200-6917) The Caliper Life Sciences AMS 90SE is an automated microfluidics system ideal for high throughput DNA analysis. This high performance unit automates analysis of nucleic acid fragments in preparation for applications like microarray spotting and cloning. Accuracy and efficiency are integral to the design of the AMS 90SE, with quantitation and sizing of DNA samples performed at an astounding rate of 30 seconds per sample for both 96- and 384- well plates. In contrast to traditional, gel based fragment analysis techniques, this bioanalyzer provides remarkable sample to sample and run to run reproducibility, circumventing the need for time-intensive data normalization procedures that account for experimental variation in data obtained over multiple days. The patented “sipper-based” automation for microwell sampling negates the tediousness and error of manual gel loading, and the sensitivity of the laser-based fluorescence detection system enables precision in observing DNA fragments even at minimal concentrations.
