WOW! Just WHAT EVERY PERSON WHO MIXES IN A BUCKET NEEDS to prevent the bucket from spinning while mixing with a power mixer. Mix material as thin as paint and as heavy as mortar safely with a power mixer. This red colored device, seen in the photos, is about as simple as it gets. No clamps or rings or heavy metal parts or even teeth to seize on a bucket and cause the bucket, it's contents and maybe also you and the mixing tool including the cord, to become dangerously wrapped up by an out of control bucket spinning wildly because the mixture was too thick. With this device, named THE BUCKET ARRESTOR, (TM) if the mixer even slightly tries to move the bucket along with the mix because the mix was to heavy and thick, the immediate action by the operator is to simply lessen the pressure of his foot against the bucket and the bucket will spin harmlessly in the "vee" shaped curb of the device while the operator releases the switch on the mixer. Other similar more complicated devices made to achieve the same non-spin effect can be slow to release and by that time, the mixer can break away from the operator and even wrap the mixer cord around the operators hands before the operator can release the switch; possibly binding his or her fingers, preventing them from releasing the switch. And, standing on the bucket rim to maintain a stationary bucket can be a real disaster if the bucket is going to spin in spite of the operator's weight on the bucket. Just trying to hold the bucket with your feet is very primitive and allows the bucket to spin even it the mix is NOT too thick; especially at the beginning of mixing.
