The veneer's thickness may vary slightly but should be relatively close to these measurements: paper-backed veneers at 1/40", wood-backed at 1/25", raw plain veneer with no backing at 1/32"-1/42", and phenolic backed veneer at 1/16th"-1/25th". Please note that sometimes veneers come with minor splits or tears, which are taped or repaired to maintain overall quality. There may also be some minor wood filler used to fill crevices. As this is a natural product, there may be some imperfections that require sanding before applying the finish. To cut the veneer, you can use a razor/box knife or similar tool and a straight edge. For application, use contact cement for paper-backed and wood-backed veneers and white or yellow wood glue for raw plain veneer, applying pressure while drying. You can use most conventional finishing products to finish the veneer if it is applied correctly. For backed products, you'll receive clear and easy-to-follow application instructions. If you're working with raw, un-backed veneer, we suggest looking online for advice on handling the product, as opinions tend to vary. This high-quality cherry wood veneer comes in an 8" x 10" size and has a paper backer for added durability. The wood is of "A" grade quality and has a thickness of 1/40th". Please note that each piece is unique, and there may be slight variations from the picture provided. To ensure that you see the true color and grain of the cherry veneer, most pictures have been temporarily wet on the lower portion. While we have made every effort to accurately represent the color, please note that color adjustments have been made, and it may not be an exact match.
