The trap incorporates the unique Collins Traps design perch assembly. When a magpie enters the trap, its first instinct is to hop onto the perch, which then closes the door behind it. The trap comes ready assembled and boxed, and when used in the right place, it can be one of the most successful traps on the market. Remember to check your trap at least twice a day and provide your call bird with food, water and a perch. You are also required to provide your call bird with shelter, and this trap includes an inbuilt steel panel to perform this function. Trapping is an effective method of controlling gregarious birds, scaring and physical exclusion are other methods. Tamer birds are often impossible to scare, especially in built up areas in our towns and cities, or near long term sources of food, land fill sites, cattle feed lots, even fast food outlets.
