Note that this auction is for the guard and mounting stud only. I had a 8" Crescent Light Jointer (Only Crescent could call this jointer light - it weighed a ton for an 8" jointer) that was missing the original blade guard.  I got a hold of one and had several reproductions made at Cattail Foundry in PA.  This is one of those extra guards I had made.  It is aluminum just like the original and includes the contours and age patterns of the one used as the archetype for the casting.  In the pictures above, the black guard is the original and the plain aluminum one is the reproduced unit.  I also had the mounting stud reproduced, drilled, milled, and tapped.  You can see in the photos how it attaches to the jointer. This is a pretty light piece to ship but it is long.  The current box I have for it is 5 X 11 X 35 and it weighs close to 5 lbs. Local pickup is fine too and I will combine shipping if there is no potential damage for either item being shipped.. I don't know if these guards were designed to fit multiple types of jointers but you can return them for a full refund minus shipping should it not fit your unit. The pictured unit is one that has the third foot off the back.
