Up for auction is a pair of Brand New Designs for Vision Dental Surgical Loupes 6.0X-EF Expanded Field. The loupes come with neck strap and hard case. The pictures show the actual item. This was purchased new by me from a Designs for Vision rep in 2009. The intent was to use them for endo, but my preference in procedures took a different path, so they were never used. The loupes were however customized for me with the following specs. - left -0.50,-0.75, 180 - right 0.75, 0.50, 180 - Pupillary distance 60mm - working distance 15.5 inches - name engraved on one arm - Yoeman frame - size 46 ***Please read on...... As you can see, the Rx is a very weak one. I just spoke with a Designs For Vision rep and he reassured me that, if someone were to purchase these loupes, they could call their local rep and have it custom fit for $635; including Rx, Working distance, Interpupillary Distance, Name engraving, even the type of frame. (you would have to pay the difference if you choose a more expensive frame). Basically, they would just remount the expensive part, the telescopes. These retail for $1895 if purchased new. I'm not sure if that includes taxes. My starting bid is $1000 with free shipping. Even if you took the loupes to your rep to custom fit them for you, it'll cost you $260 less than buying outright from them. Connect with a local optometrist or optician and possibly get it customized for less. Due to the nature of this item, I cannot guarantee that these will work for you without getting them custom fit by a DFV rep or optometrist. The higher magnification telescopes are particularly finicky when it comes to fine tuning to the user. These will come to you new, with never a drop of saliva or blood ever touching them. For all these reasons, I will not accept returns for this item. Rest easy that, if you choose to have it fit by a DFV rep, they will take care of you until the loupes are a perfect fit for you.
