The BISCUIT PRESS was developed to control PLATE JOINERY BISCUITS that are too thick for the intended slot.  Many biscuits fit too tight and create problems when gluing delicate or expensive assemblies.  As PLATE JOINER blades are resharpened, the biscuit fit becomes increasingly tighter. The BISCUIT PRESS allows the craftsman to adjust the fit for the exact material and type of glue being used.  No more concerns about humidity levels and fast setting glues.  With one simple crank of the handle, the biscuit is  compressed to the desired thickness.  No more checking each biscuit for size, or sanding poor fitting biscuits.  Run all your biscuits through the BISCUIT PRESS to achieve the consistency in size, a controlled fit, and reduced clamping pressure on sensitive materials or shapes.  The GATE allows rapid loading and one can compress 25 or more biscuits per minute.  It is best to size biscuit just prior to gluing.  Operating Instructions and mounting suggestions included. I was very impressed with the quality of the build and the efficiency of the design. I couldn't wait to try it out so I ran half a dozen biscuits through it with perfect results. I am a retired machinist ? welder, and I can appreciate the quality you have put into this little gem of a tool. Up until now I have been using my Wilton machinist vise, which I surface ground the jaw inserts, to compress the biscuits. This is not the most efficient way of thinning the biscuits, but it worked better for me than the hammering or sanding approach. I had nearly finished some oak shelves when I saw your ad. I had used 60 biscuits so far into the project, and every one of them had to be pressed in my vise to be usable. When I saw your ad, the machinist in me was very impressed. After having to press every biscuit I used, I was primed to order the Biscuit Press immediately. Since my wife was buying me a new Lamello Biscuit Joiner for Christmas, this provided an even better reason to order the Biscuit Press. The climate where I live is very dry in the winter, but even in the winter the biscuits will swell. We humidify the house so the furniture doesn?t fall apart, but new biscuits that are stored in my non-humidified shop will still swell. This leads me to believe that the biscuits are partly subject to a mechanical rebounding effect that may be independent of humidity. Whatever the reason, I know I will be using the press a lot, and I thank you for streamlining the process of being able to reduce the biscuit thickness in an accurate and far more efficient manner than having to squeeze them one by one, a half a biscuit at a time in my machinist vise. Thanks again for a great and needed tool. Johnny (Louisiana) I have run a cabinet shop for about 33 years. I have always been interested in new machines and tools. I guess you could call me a "tool hound." I purchased the biscuit press a few months ago. I was instantly impressed with the quality of the engineering, construction, and materials. I have many machines and tools that are a pleasure to use. The biscuit press quickly joined them. I know this tool will still be workable long after I am gone. This tool makes my job easier. For a professional the old saying goes, "If you need a tool you are already paying for it." This tool helps me do my job better and faster. That makes it a bargain. This little machine is a great idea that is well executed, and I thank you for producing it. Marty (Maryland) When I left a very positive feedback I hadn't had a chance to use the press. After using it I just have to say "What a beautiful tool". It is such a simple concept with the best quality construction and an absolute joy to use. I live in a humid climate and always had to sand the biscuits and dreaded it. Now I look for every excuse to use them. Congratulations on such a beautiful, functional invention. I will tell all my woodworking friends. Bob (Texas) Hello from Texas. We have been using your Biscuit Press for 3 months now and couldn't be happier. The humidity down here is huge and biscuits swell in bags or jars or whatever. We have sanded those biscuits for years. This machine has been a joy to own and really works well. The guys wished we would have had this years ago. The guy that developed this needs big kudos. We are thinking about purchasing a second one later this year. And that says something about this machine plain and simple. Enjoy it, Bob.
