However, this stethoscope outperforms some of the most expensive models on the market, including the Thinklabs, Harvey DLX2, and HP Rapport stethoscopes, with fantastic acoustics and both amplified and acoustic modes. While the recording feature is not functional, the amplified mode is excellent for teaching auscultation to medical students. While it was originally a collaboration between Bose and Doctor's Research Group, the company was purchased by Welch Allyn who discontinued their stethoscope line due to competition with their own products. The Echo Plus version also includes SafeSeal covers and ear tips for added convenience. Doctors Research Group: The Echo Amplified/Electronic Stethoscope A medical student I worked with briefly used this stethoscope, which is in near-perfect condition.
