Dormer A097 High Speed Steel Jobber Drill Bit Set, Bright Finish with TiN Coated Tip, Round Shank, 118 Degree Split Point, 15 piece, 1/16" to 1/2" in 1/32" Increments Item Description Special Dormer PS 118-degree split-point angles are self-centering, to reduce walking, good for hard material, and to reduce pressure on cutting edges Uncoated (bright) finish with Titanium Nitride (TiN) only at the tip, for hardness and heat resistance Variable length, for a wide range of applications High-speed steel (HSS), for use on a wide variety of materials Round shanks, for use on a variety of tool-holding systems SPECIFICATIONS The Dormer A097 variable-length, TiN-tipped, general-purpose, round-shank drill bit set, offers a set of drills to drills holes into a wide variety of metals and synthetic materials. It can drill to a depth up to four times the diameter of the drill size. The shank diameter is the same as the drill size. The A097 series has a type N flute form, with a regular helix (21 to 34 degrees) angle and with a special Dormer PS point geometry which offer easier workpiece penetration, improved hole size, and accurate centering when starting the hole. The TiN finish is a gold-colored ceramic coating that is hard and has low friction, permitting faster cutting speeds than uncoated materials. The jobber length offers a good compromise between reach and rigidity.
