DRAGER CMS 6405300 ANALYZER WITH DATA RECORDER You are bidding on a DRAGER CMS 6405300 ANALYZER WITH DATA RECORDER. This came in as government surplus. This was marked new by the government but I call it used as I do not know the history.  It runs on 4 AA batteries which are not included.  It passes all startup tests and still has the screen protector on it.  This unit retails for around $2000 so here is your chance to save. If you have any question please feel free to ask. Below was Copied Off the web: Drager CMS Analyzer Simple to use The Draeger CMS is ready for use after only a brief instruction. It makes no difference which gas or vapor you wish to measure – the instrument is used in the same way every time. The operation is guided by a menu on the display and a single button/switch. The display can be backlit and is available in German, English, French or Spanish. After an automatic system self-test, the analyzer is powered up and the measurement system is immediately ready for operation. Simply insert the chip (each chip can conduct 10 tests), perform the measurement and read the measurement result displayed as a concentration on the screen. At the end of the measurement, the chip is automatically ejected from the instrument, and the analyzer shuts down. An audible signal sounds after each operating step.  The on-board data-recorder stores up to 50 measurements with the gas/concentration and date/time. The recorder can be set up to record manually or automatically, and previous measurements can be called up on demand. Power is supplied by four standard and easily replaceable batteries which are especially suited to the analyzer's requirements (see technical data). The battery capacity allows for more than seven hours of measurement and is, of course, always displayed on the screen. The Drager CMS is currently used extensively in the petrochemical, transportation, and utilities industries as well as the fire service and government regulatory agencies. Popular applications include TWA screening, confined space entry and emergency response. Accurate The principle of mass current measurement ensures that the instrument remains unaffected by fluctuations in air pressure. Because the chips are calibrated before leaving the factory, there is no need for the user to calibrate the Drager CMS. Any possible temperature and humidity effects are checked during factory calibration. The analyzer is explosion protected and certified in accordance with Cenelec (Europe), UL (USA) and UL/CSA (Canada). In addition, the system is protected against dust and splash water in accordance with IP 54, and is resistant to electromagnetic waves. A:  Gas Calibration is never required as calibration is in the Chip. The Analyzer does require an annual maintenance check. Q:  What is the shelf life of the CMS chips? A:  2 years. They are date stamped upon shipment from Draeger Safety. Q:  In order to change the batteries on the CMS, do I remove the six screws? A:  No. There is a capture screw at the bottom of the instrument, and this is the one that is removed to change the batteries. Removal of the six screws mandates a return to Draeger Service to have the instrument repaired. These should only be removed by an authorized Draeger service technician. Q:  Can I perform remote sampling with the CMS? A:  Yes you can perform remote sampling with the use of the remote sampling system for the CMS. An optional telescopic probe is also available. If you want to use the 10-meter extension hose it requires the analyzer with integrated remote, P/N 8317700. Q:  Can I purchase the CMS Emergency Response Kit without chips and purchase the specific chips that I want? A:  Yes. This can be done by ordering part number 4055976, and each of the individual chips that are needed for the specific application. Q:  Do chips have a specific temperature storage requirement? A:  Most do not. The ideal temperature required for storage is 77 degrees F. No cooler is required. However, there are some chips that do require storage of 50 degrees F (10 degrees Celcius) and they are 6406160, 6406030, 6406600, 6406250, and 6406260. These are the only exceptions. Q:  Can data from the CMS be downloaded to a computer? A:  No. The CMS can store the information from 50 measurements with the data recorder, but since the CMS is not a continuous monitor there is no benefit to being able to download data. Q:  Does the CMS work on technical gases? A:  No. The internal mass flow sampling pump works on air and nitrogen, but other gases with different molecular weights may cause a pump error. CMS Analyzer With Data Recorder 6405300 Accurate gas measurements are made easier with the Drager CMS. This new generation spot-check detection device is literally as easy as 1-2-3 to operate. Simply insert one of the 55 chemical specific Drager-CMS-Chips into the Analyzer and follow the instructions on the display as to when to move the slide switch. TWA levels are typically analyzed in 1-2 minutes. Upon completion of this process, the concentration is indicated on the LCD display. Easy to Use, Digital Display of Results, UL, CSA, and MSHA Approved, No Calibration Required, and On-Board Data-Recorder. Power is supplied by four standard and easily replaceable batteries which are especially suited to the analyzer's requirements (see specifications). The battery capacity allows for more than seven hours of measurement and is, of course, always displayed on the screen. The Draeger CMS is currently used extensively in the petrochemical, transportation, and utilities industries as well as the fire service and government regulatory agencies.
