As a service to its readers, Machineryalso published a series of “Data Sheets” for various industries, containing important and useful formulas and tables of data. In 1914, Industrial Press consolidated these “Data Sheets” with the “Machinery Reference Series” of booklets to create the first edition of Machinery's Handbook, which has remained the world's premier handbook for the metalworking trades for nearly a century. A first edition of Machinery's Handbook sold on Ebay in May 2002 for over $200. Another first edition sold in December 2002 for over $300. Until now, many of the booklets that were published as part of the series that was the origin of Machinery's Handbook were almost as rare.
