THE GENTLEMEN WHO ARE SELLING THIS ENGINE HAVE A LOT OF EXPERIENCE WITH THESE TYPE ENGINES AND THIS IS A VERY NICE WORKING ORDER PIECE.. Edwards Motor Company engine manufactured in Springfield, Ohio between 1920 and 1926. This is a very rare engine based on the number produced and the unique design of this two cylinder powerplant. It was designed to produce 1.5 HP when running on one cylinder and 6 HP when using both cylinders. It was a modern fuel efficient engine for it's time. The flywheel is located between the piston rods as the pistons are lying parallel. The weighted flywheel, crankshaft, timing gears and crank bearings are covered and the Edwards name is cast into the flywheel cover. This engine runs smoothly and with little or no vibration on propane. Each piston has it's own carburetor which is cast into the head of the engine.  The carb as designed accepts either gasoline or propane when using a vacuum powered regulator. The engine has an overhead valve train activated by pushrod. The engine is mounted on wood rails bolted to a 3 wheeled steel cart with steel wheels. It is being sold with the engine.
