This EIMAC 2C39A is in good physical condition but has become lost from it's box. Often an FAA technician would unpack a tube like this and set it on the shelf so that it would be handy if he needed one in a hurry. Also, this kind of tube just begs to sit on it's flat end. In any event I am selling it as a used tube.   This tube was a spare for the FAA's Communication & Navigation Systems that, in some cases, dates back to the late 1930's when they were called the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). It probably had never been used because it was the FAA policy to never keep a used or faulty tube in stock.  After 45 years in climate-controlled storage, these tubes have just been released and are New old stock most in original boxes and untested. It would be rare to find one of these pristine tubes defective but it is possible. I hope to buy a tube tester but, for now, they are sold as is.
