Emerson Seafoam/Aqua Blue Electric 74646-AW Hassock Floor Fan Mid Century 1950's DESCRIPTION Once again I have been blessed and have found several items that I want to place in my store. I seem to find a little of everything sooner or later, definitely like the unusual, especially in antique and vintage items. After selling antiques for over 25 years I am still always surprised at what I find that I have not seen before. Hopefully you will like the items that I have found and will come back to visit my store again, looking for the unusual. This sale is for a Retro Emerson Electric 3-Speed Low-Table (Hassock) Fan in a very unique, and period, Seafoam/Aqua Blue color, see picts. There are 3 angular legs and metal bands, all in the seafoam/blue color, that protect the fan, along with chrome finished 'bars' that also runs around the fan, see picts. Please check out the extra pictures at the end of the description section. This fan is well marked with the Emerson logo mounted above the the control switch. There is a ding to the finish on this Logo and it is a little loose, but is still attached, see picts. The control switch is also marked with the model number, "Model 74646-AW", with a tinier "40" following the model number. There is also a small number written on the side of the metal plate, I believe it reads, "140696". The maker is identified as "Emerson Electric Mfg. Co., St. Louis, MO U.S.A., 115 Volts 1.5 Amps 60 Cyc. Cat. No. LT 121 Pat. No. 150,559", see picts. The sea foam/seafoam/aqua blue color is considered in good used condition. I have pictures all around the drum shaped fan, showing the minimal surface dirt/rust, mostly found on the bottom of the legs, see picts. The top of the hassock fan is a speckled cream metal finish, very space age, but also where you would expect the worst wear, and there are a few areas of missing paint, see picts, and finish rubs on one section of the rim, see picts. I am not an electrician and can only describe what I see when plugged in. When I plugged it and turned it on the fan was quite and worked well, adjusting to three speeds, the control switch worked well. The electrical cord and plug look original to the fan, and I could not see any significant damage to the cord. It does have the old style plug and should be inspected by someone much more knowledgeable then I, to insure it is up to current electrical codes, before using. A great Industrial and Mid Century Modern look to this Hassock footstool fan, see picts. This Emerson Hassock Fan is approx. 16 inches in diameter, the switch sticks out another approx. inch. This great retro fan is approx. 15 inches tall. These fans are multipurpose, functional as a small coffee table or end table, or even makes a great footstool, circulating air with lots of retro Mid Century Modern/Hollywood Recency style, perfect in many different decors, see picts. The bottom of the 3 legs do not have rubber 'feet', but looks like you could add them as there is a drilled hole in the bottom of each, see picts. This fan does have the surface dirt/dust, inside, that you would expect in an antique fan, I cleaned the surface, but you should clean it and oil it before regular use, see picts. The distressed paint on the top could be repainted, or leave it original, adding to the vintage distressed/industrial look of the fan. It is being sold in used condition, as described and pictured. This Emerson Hassock Drum Fan is guaranteed to be antique and original, and was just purchased at a local Moving Sale. I am sure in the pictures you can see how beautiful this Industrial Steampunk Retro Hassock Fan will display. Please ask any questions before purchasing this item.
