ETEC Scanning Electron Microscope Column, Stage, and Vacuum System 70's 80's model SEM. great for someone who wants to learn about SEM or wants to learn about electron optics. Comes with all the coils and the vacuum system that came with it. Not for the novice. We are also including the paperwork it came with- receipts, plans and schematics, test images, etc. It will need a control system possibly using Arduino or Microchip MCU's with power supplies and regulators. Will take a substantial amount of electronics knowledge or lots of time to learn. Really, not for the novice. To our knowledge, all the coils and apertures are in good shape. The pumping system needs some work. We do have some other parts for this that could be integrated into a new system to run it, such as the high voltage tank. The stage mechanisms work great, the door swings open easily. Microscope section is in good mechanical shape. In other words, if you want to make your own SEM, this would be a great way to do it because the hardware is already there, including shielding from x-rays. You would save yourself a lot of time machining and welding.
