Excel XL-SB Xlerator (110V/120V) Hand Dryers with FREE Quieter 1.1 Nozzle (Upon Request) with Stainless Steel Cover and Brushed (Satin) Finish SUMMARY: The 120Volt XLERATOR hand dryer by Excel Dyer can thoroughly dry the user’s hands in only 10 to 15 seconds, providing 3 times faster hand drying power than standard hand dyers. The XL-SB has a one-piece, heavy-duty, unbreakable, rustproof cover made of stainless steel. All exposed surfaces of the cover are brushed, resulting in a satin-like finish. The 5/8HP motor is automatically activated by an infrared sensor; dryer operates as long as hands are under the air outlet. An air velocity of 14,000 linear feet per minute and an air temperature of 135°F are produced at hand level (4in. below nozzle). If the available 1.1 Nozzle is installed (free upon request), the velocity and sound will slightly decrease while dry time will slightly increase. Mounting hardware and instructions included. SPECIFICS: In 2002, the warm-air hand dryer landscape was forever changed when the Excel Dryer Co. first introduced the Xlerator hand dryer. As the world’s first high-speed hand dryer capable of drying the user’s hands in only 10 to 15 seconds, the Xlerator set the new standard for the entire hand dryer industry. There are six (6) different Xlerator models. The internals components and performance of all six are identical. The only difference in the Xlerator models is the material and appearance of the cover. Specific to the Model XL-SB, a high-grade stainless steel is used to form a one-piece, die-cast heavy-duty, vandal-resistant cover. This light weight cover is both rustproof and unbreakable. All exposed areas of the cover are given a brushed, satin-like finish. Two tamper-resistant, chrome plated bolts secure the cover to the wall plate/motor base. The Xlerator uses a powerful “series commutated through-flow discharge vacuum motor/blower” design. At 5/8HP or 20,000 RPM, this powerful yet extremely efficient motor can produce an air velocity of 19,000 lfm (linear feet per minute) at the nozzle or 16,000 lfm at hand level (approx. 4” below the nozzle). A sound level of 80 to 81 dB is generated by the deflection of the high-speed air flow off the user’s hands (a quieter nozzle available upon request at no additional charge). Dry time is an amazing 10 to 15 seconds, which is 3 X faster than standard 30-second hand dryers. But the actual length of the run cycle is determined by the user. The motor and the NiChrome heating element are activated by an infrared optical sensor, and as soon as the user's hands are removed from under the unit, the drying cycle is terminated. The Xlerator heats the out-flowing air to approx.135°F (from an ambient temperature of 72°F) through a combination of the 970W heating element, friction, and the compression of the air flow. It is designed to make the Xlerator high-speed hand dryer (the XL Series) ADA compliant with the 4" protrusion requirement for primary walk-way or traffic corridors. In other words, according to ADA requirements, no item is allowed to extend out from the wall surface more than 4" if that wall is adjacent to the restroom's primary flow of traffic.
