Fire Hydrant Valve Stem Flat Style Wrench From Nyc, Ny Keystone Socket

Fire hydrant valve stem flat wrench style from NYC, NY with a keystone socket.  This is a no frills, utility wrench, not an antique, only 45 years old. It is purely functional. Better to use than a pipe wrench which will mar or chew up the hydrant's valve stem. This originally served as a hydrant lock then it was straightened out to work as a wrench. From the 19th Street Station House, FDNY Firehouse Engine 3, Ladder 12 & Battalion 7, Chelsea, New York City, Manhattan. Extra torque or opening force can be provided by hitting the bar with a large hammer / sledge. The bar is malleable steel so it will not break like a casting when struck. Also, extra force can be applied using a 3" pipe or conduit that has the end slightly flattened to fit over the 3" bar. This is a galvanized bar which is also painted to retard rust. Weighs 3 pounds and nine ounces, measures 15" X 3" X 1/4". The keystone socket fits the larger, older style valve stem ends. The socket has five sides and the specs are 1-9/16", 1-1/2" and 1". Please see close up photos. Thanks for checking my auction, Harvey of New City Machine Works.
